The museum is run by volunteers some of whom open the museum and meet visitors. The museum is open at the weekends between May and September from 2.00pm to 5.00pm and normally there are two people on the door. Some of these volunteers show people round and we are always looking for new volunteers to help us. If you'd like to help please contact the curator.
Conservation of the exhibits is an ongoing task and if you are interested in helping we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact the curator if you would like to know what is involved.
How You Could Help Us
The Trust depends on donations and grants to carry out its works and all support is gratefully received. If you would like to support us, in the first instance, please contact the curator. He will then put you in touch with one of the Trustees who will give you further information about donating and the work of the museum.
People and Organisations that Currently Support Us
The Cromarty Trust
The Cromarty Trust has recently made a donation of £500 specifically for use towards costs associated with the preparation of interpretation materials or other costs associated with the conservation and presentation of the existing collection.
The Cromarty Trust has supported other initiatives in the past and we are extremely grateful for the help they are giving us.
Rainham Historical Society
A few years ago the Rainham Historical Society voted to support a charity of their choice and chose Brook Museum. A presentation was given by the museum at Rainham and at the end of the evening a significant donation was given to the museum.
Ashford Borough Council
Although we do not receive direct funding from Ashford Borough Council, they continue to support various projects.
