The museum is run by volunteers some of whom open the museum and meet visitors. The museum is open at the weekends between May and September from 2.00pm to 5.00pm and normally there are two people on the door. Some of these volunteers show people round and we are always looking for new volunteers to help us. If you'd like to help please contact the curator.
Conservation of the exhibits is an ongoing task and if you are interested in helping we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact the curator if you would like to know what is involved.
How You Could Help Us
The Trust depends on donations and grants to carry out its works and all support is gratefully received. If you would like to support us, in the first instance, please contact the curator. He will then put you in touch with one of the Trustees who will give you further information about donating and the work of the museum.
People and Organisations that Currently Support Us
Thanks to Councillors Clair Bell (Kent County Council) and William Howard (Ashford Borough Council) for making generous discretionary grants which have allowed the Trust to purchase a marquee to make it easier to host events and to the Cromarty Trust for a grant towards the cost of of repairing the oak cladding on the sheds adjoining the barn; the replacement cladding was cut locally in Kent and sawn and installed by Mr Norman Davidson.
